Justice Kudirat Jose of a Lagos High Court, has convicted and sentenced Promise Ntuen Ekemini to one year imprisonment, for hijacking the e-mail of a lawful owner of a property, located in Western Australia valued at $800,000 and attempting to sell the property.

He was arraigned in April, 2014 on a 5-count charge bordering on conspiracy to defraud, attempt to obtain money by false pretences and forgery. Justice Jose found him guilty of all the charges and convicted him.

His sentence will from the day of his arraignment. Ekemini got into trouble by impersonating Brian Roderick Daniel, owner of a property located at No. 143, Sprinaway Parade, Falcon, Western Australia and offering his property to buyers on the internet without the consent of the owner. The Australian Police alerted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to monitor a controlled delivery of some documents related to the transactions to Ekemini. He was arrested at the point of collection of the documents.

WICKEDNESS: Okadaman Beats Pregnant Woman To Coma In Lagos

Some people are heartless! A commercial motorcycle operator has beaten a seven- month pregnant woman to coma along the Lagos-Badagry expressway, near Oluti bus stop in Lagos.

Trouble started after the woman was said to have paid the unknown rider a stipulated amount of money to convey her from Iyana Iba to First Gate bus stop, Maza Maza.

According to an eyewitness, who identifiedherself simply as Mama Bola, the pregnant woman, Feyisara, when she regained consciousness in a private hospital, said the agreement was for the rider to move her to First Gate only for him to stop near Oluti, screaming at her to get off from the motorcycle.

The source said Feyisara disclosed that an argument ensued and the rider wanted to move the bike but she held his clothes tight, preventing him from escaping.

According to Mama Bola, “The pregnant woman, Feyisara said she had paid the okada rider the agreed amount only for him to lie that Alakija was the destination she told him. So, when they reached Alakija, he ordered the woman to get off but she refused insisting that she would get off at her destination. So, when the desperate rider wanted to escape and the woman stopped him, he attempted to remove her hands from his clothes but to no avail. The man parked the machine and forcefully removed her hands.

“The woman said she had no choice than to go after his private part. An action which probably angered the man as he punched her in the neck and the woman fell on a stone and was rolling on the ground when sympathisers saw her and took her to a private hospital. She was bleeding”.

Meanwhile, the Okadaman had zoomed off to an unknown destination. Police is on his trail.

A notorious fraudster who impersonated the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, 39-year-old Adewunmi Ajide Olayinka, has confessed that the lack of employment opportunities in the country makes it easy for him and his syndicate to dupe job seekers.

Olayinka, also known as Adewunmi Adeyinka Siaka, who was arrested after he posed as an employee of NDLEA, reportedly told some of his victims that he was in charge of selling auctioned vehicles for the agency. In his confession, he claimed that it was easy to extort money from job seekers, and he used to collect between N17,500 and N40,000 from his victims.

He also extorted N680,000 from another victim for the purchase of two NDLEA auctioned vehicles and employment of his son. The suspect said that joblessness pushed him into the criminal act.

Olayinka who also claimed to be an Ordinary National Diploma, (OND), graduate of Business Administration hails from Ila-Orogun, Osun State,and stated that he used to sell CDs in Abuja until his business collapsed when his shop was demolished and he lost his home.

“I told a man that I work with the NDLEA and that I can assist his son get job through an ongoing internal recruitment. He then gave me N40,000. I discovered that it was easy for people to pay money for recruitment. That was how it all started.

It was joblessness that made me to do it. I also collected money from a man that I will help him to buy Toyota Sienna and Toyota Camry at a very cheap price during NDLEA auction sales in Abuja. Some people paid money into my bank account while others paid cash.”

But the tide turned against him when ten of the people he duped visited the Ibadan office of the agency requesting for information about the next batch of training at the NDLEA Academy in Jos slated for December 16.

Olayinka was eventually traced and arrested at a private location in Ibadan. Items recovered from him include curriculum vitae of applicants, Nigeria Immigration Service recruitment form and his international passport with the name Adewunmi Adeyinka Siaka.

The NDLEA Chairman, Ahmadu Giade, however, said that the agency was not conducting recruitment and would not recruit secretly.

“We are determined to deal decisively with fraudsters who defraud members of the public under the guise of employment or helping them to buy auctioned vehicles. Members of the public should learn from this case and avoid dealing with fraudsters.”

Two Men Bags Death Sentence For Stealing Fowls In Osun State

The Osun High Court in Okuku, has sentenced two men to death for stealing fowls. The convicts, Olowookere Seguana & Morakinyo Sunday were found guilty of breaking into the home of the complainant Balogun Tope and stealing his fowls. The men had been in his house before to steal.

The robbers had also been sighted around the complainant's house with a cutlass and dane gun. They also confessed to earlier robbing one Alhaja Umani Oyewo in her house and stole broilers, eggs and kegs of vegetable oil from the house.

They were charged with conspiracy, robbery and stealing. In the judgement, there were convicted on three counts: death for conspiracy, life sentence for robbery and 3 years' imprisonment for stealing.

NOT AGAIN: Teen Dies Trying To Protect His Twin Brother (See Photos)

A weekend armed robbery claimed the life of a 15-year-old Chicago teen who was walking to his high school to play basketball with his twin brother.

Demario and Demarcio Bailey were walking to an Englewood High School basketball game when four robbers ambushed the 15-year-old twins on a street corner Saturday afternoon.

“Get off my brother,” Demario cried out as the young men shook up their pockets and demanded their jackets, according to the Chicago Tribune. As the Bailey boys struggled with the attackers, one suspect pulled out a gun and fired.

Three days shy of their 16th birthday,one gunshot wound to the chest killed Demario. The shot sent the accomplices and Demarcio running. He looked back only to see his brother’s body lying face down under a viaduct.

“He didn’t see anybody other than Demario on the ground,” his grandmother, Bernice Fitzpatrick, 62, told the Tribune, describing them both as honorable boys. “They were raised to stick together.”

Chicago cops have taken several suspects into custody including a 17- year-old now charged with murder, robbery and attempted robbery with a firearm. The shooting happened just after their family gave the teen boys permission to be out on their own together more often. The boy’s death sparked a dramatic statement from Johnson College Prep, where Demaro attended school, which called for martial law to handle the tragic shooting.

“I know I speak for every educator who continuously deals with this type of tragedy in saying we are sick and tired of being sick and tired. The apologies are not enough, and after all the fanfare is over, someone still has to put their baby in the ground,” Principal Garland Thomas-McDavid wrote.

“I believe I speak for every mother who lives on the South Side of this city in saying we don’t mind if it takes (martial) law to get this in order. Demario did not deserve to die three days from his 16th birthday.” The Bailey’s mother collapsed at the scene after Demario’s body was taken away.

According to family members, she had sheltered the boys for most of their lives, driving them to most places but as their 16th birthday approached she lifted began to allow them more freedom. Demario would have been 16th on Tuesday.

80 Children Killed By Pakistan Talibans

Islamic terror group, the Taliban, around 10 this morning launched a deadly attack on a military-run primary school in Northwestern city of Peshawar in Pakistan, killing 100 people, 80 of them children, according to the BBC. They are also reportedly holding over 100 children hostage. Over 500 students have so far been evacuated.

According to reports, the militants stormed the school's auditorium this morning where the students were learning first aid training from the military and started shooting.

According to one of the teachers who survived the attack, as soon the militants started shooting, the students ran into their class rooms in panic but the militants pursued them & shot them at close range

One of the students, Abdullah Jamal who sustained a gunshot injury on his leg, said that he was with a group of 8th, 9th and 10th graders who were getting first-aid instructions and training with a team of Pakistani army medics when the shooting started.

"Then I saw children falling down who were crying and screaming. I also fell down. I learned later that I have got a bullet," he said, speaking from his hospital bed. "All the children had bullet wounds. All the children were bleeding," Jamal said.

The Pakistani police have since condoned off the area and is working to bring the situation under control. Blood donations have also been called for for injured victims.

Meanwhile Taliban spokesman Mohammed Khurasani in a telephone interview to Pakistan media, claimed responsibility for the attack stating that six suicide bombers had carried out the attack in revenge for the killings of Taliban members at the hands of Pakistani authorities.

Heartless Uganda maid sentenced to 4 years in prison

The Ugandan maid who was secretly filmed beating, kicking and stamping on an 18 months old baby has been sentenced to 4 years in prison for assault on a child.

22 year old Jolly Tumuhiirwe was sentenced on December 14th in a Kampala high court after pleading guilty to the crime of assault last week.

The court dropped charges of torture which would have given her at least 10 years in prison. 4 years is good enough. Lesson learnt. Justice served!

Fuel scarcity looms as oil workers threatens to embark on strike tomorrow

It appears another episode of petroleum scarcity is about to hit Nigerians as members of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association [PENGASSAN] and their counterparts in the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers [NUPENG], are set to begin a nationwide strike starting from tomorrow Monday December 15th. According to Premium Times, the oil workers are heading for a strike action due to unresolved labor issues with the federal government, underfunding of the Petroleum Training Institute in Delta state as well as the yet to be passed Petroleum Industry Bill PIB.

"We (the oil workers) have sufficient reasons, based on information available to us, to believe that the law makers are not prepared to pass the law, even as the state of the country’s petroleum industry has continued to deteriorate as a result of the absence of a regulatory and legal framework for the industry,” an official of the petroleum workers body said.

The oil workers are said to also be aggrieved over the decision of the management of Total Nigeria to sack the PENGASSAN zonal Secretary in Port Harcourt as well as the lack of promotion for workers of the Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF).

UNBELIEVABLE:- How Police Killed My Brother, Buried Him & Begged Us With N10m- Sister

Some policemen attached to Maroko police station, Lagos State, have been accused of killing a 24-year old man,bAondona Tavershima and buried him in a shallow grave at Lekki beach.


Five of the suspected policemen are now currently in police detention. The victim, a motorcycle operator, was alleged to have refused to stop when he was accosted by the policemen who were said to be on patrol at about 11am onbthe fateful day.


“On realizing that he was dead, the policemen picked his corpse and put it behind their patrol vehicle, a Toyota Hilux Van, and covered it with tyres. They drove to the beach and buried him. We were the ones who alerted the family that their brother had been killed and buried,” the eyewitness disclosed.


Narrating the incident to Sunday Sun on phone, Aondona’s elder sister, Linda, said she got to know about the incident on Thursday, November 11, 2014. “I knew that he left for Lekki with his friend and when he did not come back, I assumed that he had gone to spend time with his friends. When I was told that my brother was killed, my people visited the scene and saw the grave. We later discovered that the policemen were from Maroko police station and we went to lodge a complaint. They promised to invite SCID Panti to exhume the body, as it was not their job. At night, they came and exhumed the body and kept it in a mortuary. The DPO later called me and requested that they would pay us N10 million to end the matter. They said we should go home and think about it and get back to them,” Linda
alleged.


Similarly, an in-law to the deceased, Dominic David, claimed that he was told that policemen were trying to arrest Aondona and he refused to stop. “They opened fire on him and shot him.

And even when he fell down, they still continued to shoot.

Initially, they wanted to abandon the corpse, but the owner of the house near where he was killed insisted that they must carry the corpse away.”


“They took his body to Lekki beach and buried him in a grave and covered the burial site with leaves and old carton. Unfortunately, some of the people who witnessed the crime knew us very well and alerted us. They promised that Panti was going to investigate the matter but up till date, they have not done anything about it.”


The lawyer representing the family, Barrister Mindia Chibok, said the family intends to legally seek redress on the injustice meted out to the victim. We expect that by now the matter should have been transferred to an ap­ propriate authority and not the same police station where the crime was committed. We hope that the police authority will order a thorough investigation and ensure that the suspects, including those who are currently at large be arrested and made to face the wrath of the law.


I gathered that six of the suspects are currently at large while five others are in police custody.


Confirming the incident, Lagos Police command spokesman, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, said that as soon as the Commissioner of Police for Lagos State got wind of the incident, he ordered an immediate arrest of the suspected policemen who were alleged to have participated in the killing.


“Five policemen are currently being detained, while State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, has since commenced an investigation. If found guilty, the officers will be made to face the wrath of the law,” Nwosu said.

Jungle Justice: Armed Robber Burnt To Death In Warri

An armed robber using a motorcycle met his waterloo at the early hours of Sunday in the oil-rich city of Warri, Delta State, while trying to snatch a handbag from a lady.

The incident occurred at Enemejuwa Junction, off Ometan Road, Warri.

The young man was set ablaze by an irate mob. According to a witness who gave her name as Celina Agbo, the robbers were about six in number, but luck ran out of one of them after snatching a bag from her victim.

The witnessed said the robber’s legs and hands were bound and tyres wound round his neck before he was bathed with premium motor spirit (petrol) and eventually set ablaze, adding that the remaining five robbers, however, escaped.

Sympathisers were seen at the scene, with some relishing the jungle justice meted out to the knife-carrying marauder.

Delta State government had, on November 1, banned commercial motorcycles from plying major roads in Warri, Asaba and other major towns in the state, owing to high rate of crime by some motorcycle riders.

Residents of the popular town have been groaning under the attendant effects of the policy, forcing several people to trek kilometres to their places of work as a result of over 100 per cent hike in intra-city transportation fares.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State police command, DSP Charles Muka, who confirmed the incident to the Nigerian Tribune, enjoined the public to go about their normal businesses, saying that the police were on top of the situation.
